Warranty and replacement terms vary by manufacturer, ownership model (purchased vs. placement vs. rental), and any MSC service plan you've enrolled in. Use the table below to confirm what's covered before you call.
Warranty by brand
- Clover: 1-year manufacturer warranty on purchased units. If you rent or receive a free placement, the device carries a 3-year warranty for as long as you remain on the program.
- Dejavoo: Standard free swap during year 1. Every year after the first carries a $99 deductible per swap.
- Ingenico: Every purchase comes with a 12-month limited warranty. Placement units carry a lifetime warranty for the life of the program.
- PAX: 12-month manufacturer warranty. Extended warranties are available — ask your account manager for pricing.
- Square: 1-year limited warranty, or a 48-month back-to-back warranty when bundled with an MSC service plan or the MSC Advantage program.
How to file a warranty claim
- Open a support ticket with the device model, serial number, and a description of the issue.
- MSC support performs first-line triage (firmware, network, reboots, swap-tests).
- If hardware replacement is approved, we ship a swap unit and provide a prepaid return label for the failed device.
- Out-of-warranty or deductible-applicable swaps (e.g. Dejavoo year 2+) are quoted before shipping.
What voids warranty
- Liquid damage, drops, or physical damage outside normal countertop use.
- Unauthorized firmware flashing or jailbreaking.
- Failure to return the failed unit within 14 days of receiving the swap.

Yes — free-placement Clovers carry a 3-year warranty for as long as you remain on the program. Swap units ship next-business-day after the ticket is approved.
How much is a Dejavoo swap after year 1?
$99 deductible per swap for any year after the first. Year 1 swaps are free under the standard Dejavoo program.
Does Ingenico really come with a lifetime warranty on placements?
Yes — Ingenico placement units carry a lifetime warranty for the duration of your placement program. Purchased Ingenico units carry the standard 12-month limited warranty.
Can I extend my PAX warranty past 12 months?
Yes — extended warranty plans are available on the most common PAX models (A920, A60, S300). Ask your account manager for current pricing.
What's the MSC Advantage Square warranty?
Square hardware on the MSC service plan or Advantage program gets a 48-month back-to-back warranty — significantly longer than Square's default 1-year.
