Question 1

How much does credit card processing cost with MSC?

Accepted Answer

Our standard interchange-plus pricing begins with interchange + 0.65% + $0.10. Dual-pricing customers pay no processing fees because the fee is built into the cost of the sale for the cardholder using our patented technology. Custom rates apply to high-volume merchants earning more than $1.5 million per year.

Question 2

Are you a direct processor or a reseller?

Accepted Answer

Merchant Solutions Corp is an Independent Sales Organization (ISO) and an authorized dealer/reseller for Clover, Square, Union POS, Dejavoo, Ingenico, PAX, and Payanywhere. We also hold direct processor relationships through our sponsor banks and ISO contracts, which lets us place merchants directly and price below bank-branded rates.

Question 3

How does MSC help me lower my credit card processing fees?

Accepted Answer

We review your current statement line by line, flag junk fees and padded markups, then match you to the pricing model that costs you the least — interchange-plus, flat-rate, or a zero-fee dual pricing / cash discount program.

Question 4

What is the best payment processing platform for my business?

Accepted Answer

It depends on where and how you process. We lead with Electronic Payment Exchange (EPX) as our preferred platform, and place merchants on TSYS or Fiserv based on POS and integration compatibility. For Canada we process through US Bank, and for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands we use Fiserv or TSYS.

Question 5

Is it legal to pass credit card processing fees to my customers?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when it's done correctly. Dual pricing and cash discounting are legal in all 50 states, and surcharging is legal in most states within the card-brand caps. We set up the posted pricing, signage, and receipts so your program stays compliant.

Question 6

What is the difference between a surcharge, cash discount, and dual pricing?

Accepted Answer

A surcharge adds a fee on top of the posted price for credit cards only (capped and restricted in some states). A cash discount posts the card price and takes a discount off for paying cash. Dual pricing shows both the card price and the cash price side by side at checkout. All three reduce or eliminate your processing cost — dual pricing is the most transparent and the most widely compliant.

Question 7

I need to accept credit card payments fast. What are my options?

Accepted Answer

Most merchants are approved within 24-48 hours and live within 3-5 business days. If you need to take a payment today, we can start you on a smart terminal, a Clover or Square POS, or a tap-to-pay mobile reader while your full account is finalized.

Question 8

Can I accept credit card payments using my phone?

Accepted Answer

Yes. With tap-to-pay you can accept contactless cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay directly on a compatible smartphone — no extra hardware — or pair a Bluetooth reader for chip and swipe. It's ideal for mobile, delivery, and field-service businesses.

Question 9

Does MSC offer payment processing in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We provide full merchant services in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, processed through Fiserv or TSYS.

Question 10

Does MSC provide payment processing in Canada?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Canadian merchants are processed through US Bank, with the same dual pricing, POS, and terminal options available to our U.S. merchants.

Question 11

How can I become an MSC affiliate partner?

Accepted Answer

We partner with ISOs, ISVs, agents, and referral partners through our partner program, with revenue-share and white-label options. Reach out through our contact page and our partnerships team will get you set up.

Question 12

How much should a business pay for credit card processing?

Accepted Answer

A fair all-in effective rate for most small businesses lands between about 2.2% and 2.8% on interchange-plus pricing — anything higher usually means padded markups or tiered qualified vs. non-qualified billing. With a dual pricing program your processing cost can be $0. The honest answer depends on your card mix and average ticket, which is why we benchmark it against your actual statement.

Question 13

Can MSC match or beat my current processing rates?

Accepted Answer

In most cases we can match or beat your current pricing — but we don't guess. Send us a recent statement and we'll do a side-by-side comparison. If we can't improve on what you already have, we'll tell you straight.

Question 14

Can I keep my current POS system and switch payment processors?

Accepted Answer

Often, yes. Open platforms like Clover, Dejavoo, Ingenico, and PAX can be reprogrammed to our processing, so you keep your hardware and workflow. Closed systems like Square route payments only through Square — in that case we'll show you the closest equivalent and whether switching makes sense.
